Monday, September 12, 2011
New Haven, Connecticut - September 12, 2011 - Woodbridge is pleased to announce the sale of its client ICON International, Inc. to Endo Lighting Corporation.
Based in Rhode Island, ICON is an innovative provider of energy-efficient commercial lighting solutions. Endo Lighting is a publicly traded manufacturer of original lighting fixtures headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
In business for over 60 years, ICON designs, manufactures and markets energy efficient architectural lighting systems for retailers, supermarkets, healthcare, transportation, municipal and commercial environments.
Endo Lighting was founded in 1967 and specializes in developing technologies that deliver higher-value lighting environments with less energy for its global customer base.
With the Japanese yen at an all-time high against the U.S. dollar, Woodbridge expects to see more cross-border deal closings this year involving Japanese firms and U.S. companies. In addition, the firm has expanded its ability to market sell-side clients - whether they are based in the U.S. or overseas - to potential strategic buyers in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
"Endo is the perfect match for ICON, bringing their LED technology and expertise in all phases of commercial and industrial lighting to the outstanding ICON team," said Michael Goeller, president of ICON International.
